Thread Drawings

These pieces are primarily two-dimensional. All are free-motion machine -drawn by hand. What that means is that I used the sewing machine with the pressure foot only half-way down and the feed dogs all the way down and out of the way. This enables me to freely move the fabric underneath the needle. Think of it as if your pen doesn’t move but instead you move your paper underneath to draw your picture. I generally do this without a pre drawn image on the fabric. I either work from photographs or my imagination.
